On 20-21 July 2026, the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was celebrated in Kazan. On July 20, an All-Night Vigil featuring the chanting of the Akathist to the Mother of God took place at the Kazan Cathedral, while a religious procession was held on July 21 near the Annunciation Cathedral in the Kazan Kremlin.
The programme also included the consecration of the Church of St. Nicholas of Tula and the Divine Liturgy. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ took part in the festivities; he officiated at the service in the Kazan Cathedral and consecrated the restored Church of St. Nicholas of Tula at the Kazan Theotokos Monastery. This marked the Patriarch’s fifth visit to Kazan.
The celebratory programme concluded with a concert in Yelmay Park. Performers on stage included Vika Tsyganova, the Moscow-based group Pokrov, and a Russian song ensemble led by Eleonora Kalashnikova.
