From 4 to 8 September 2026, Kazan played host to the XXII “Altyn minbar” Kazan International Film Festival – a contest of live-action films, documentaries, and animations embracing the traditions and modern cinema.

About the Festival

The festival focuses on the films capable of uniting people, capturing eternal values and preserving the ties with cultural traditions. They promote the ideas of peace, tolerance, and humanism regardless of nationality and confession.

The event’s motto is “Through the dialogue of cultures – to a culture of dialogue”. The Altyn Minbar space unites: cinematographers and producers, experts in the field of education and film industry, representatives of partner film festivals, film forums, and international film organisations, industry experts and opinion leaders.

40 films from 12 countries were announced for the First festival, and in 2025 the Festival gathered a larger number of participants – 845 applications were submitted from 67 countries.
