The East Cup is a traditional international football tournament for children aged 10-11 from the Islamic world and neighbouring countries.
About the tournament
The first tournament was founded by the Rubin Football Club and Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan back in 2024 and was held in Kazan, on the pitches of the “Young Guard” camp featuring 10 teams from Russia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan.
The second edition was timed to coincide with the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KAZANFORUM”. A gala match within the tournament was held with the participation of young diplomats from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation countries, stars of the FC Rubin, and the Russian national team. It showed that sport transcends political, national, and religious barriers.
In 2026, Kazan will play host to the tournament again, on the pitches of the Burevestnik sports complex.
